From Tuscany to Your Table

Bella Vista was born from a dream that began in a small kitchen in Tuscany. When our founder, Marco Bellini, immigrated to America in 1983, he carried with him nothing but his grandmother's handwritten recipe book and an unwavering passion for authentic Italian cooking.

Two years later, with the support of his family and the encouragement of neighbors who couldn't get enough of his homemade pasta, Marco opened the doors to Bella Vista in the heart of Little Italy.

Today, nearly four decades later, Bella Vista remains a family affair. Marco's daughter, Sofia, now heads the kitchen, carrying forward the traditions her father taught her while adding her own modern touches. The original recipe book still sits in the kitchen—though now held together by love and a bit of kitchen twine.

Every dish we serve tells a story. From the hand-rolled pasta made fresh each morning to the sauces that simmer for hours, we honor the traditions that Marco brought from the old country while welcoming each guest as part of our extended family.

Meet Chef Sofia Bellini

Chef Sofia Bellini grew up surrounded by the aromas and flavors of her father's kitchen. Before taking the helm at Bella Vista, she trained at the Culinary Institute of Bologna and spent five years working in acclaimed restaurants across Italy.

"My father taught me that cooking is about more than technique—it's about love, patience, and respect for ingredients. Every dish should make someone feel like they're sitting at our family table in Tuscany."

Under Sofia's leadership, Bella Vista has earned recognition for its commitment to authenticity while embracing sustainable, locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. She personally selects produce from nearby farms and imports specialty items directly from trusted artisans in Italy.

When she's not in the kitchen, Sofia can be found teaching pasta-making classes to the next generation or experimenting with seasonal menus that celebrate the best of each harvest.
